Genealogy or family history is simply tracing our family lineage back in time

Each of us has two family lines our mother’s ancestry (your maternal line) or our father’s ancestry (your paternal line) we can research on your maternal line, your paternal line or both. One family line can take one researcher between 3 - 4 weeks to complete. During the process you will receive regular progress reports and have a choice of ways to have your family history presented.

In every case there is three small pieces of information we need to get started

Your mother or fathers name
Their date of birth
Where they were born

We start by researching the many public sources for data and start connecting you to your ancestors, along the way we will add information about their occupations, the addresses where your ancestors lived, who they lived with. We come across newspaper cuttings, legal notices and much more.

Once we have done the basic stuff it is time to fill in the gaps and confirm that the research we have collected is accurate, this may mean visits to places like;

The National Archives
BMD registry offices
Churches, for Parish Records
The Probate Registry
British museum Newspaper Library
London Museum

Within the deadline we will have collected enough to map your family tree back as early as possible usually to the early 1800's, we will have collected dates, names, places and other information that will bring your family history to life.

Once you have decided who we are researching you will need to register here at the website and one of our friendly genealogists will telephone you to discuss your exact requirements. The most important thing to remember is that all families are different and some are easier to find than others, in some cases we have traced families across the world.

Our BASIC FAMILY TREE SERVICE concentrates on one direct line maternal or paternal, we will usually add three or more new generations to your direct line. We will be concentrating on your direct line and will include aunts, uncles and cousins that are discovered in the course of our research. Once completed (usually 2 - 4 weeks) you will receive a family history report outlining your family tree, the sources of our research, copies of documents and (depending on your requirements) up to six birth, marriage or death certificates and finally your family tree presented either as a wall chart or family tree book.

FAMILY TREE COMPLETE Includes both your direct lines and includes up to 12 marriage or death certificates. FAMILY TREE COMPLETE takes between 6 - 8 weeks and your family tree is presented as both a wall chart and a family tree book. You can also upgrade to include a family tree website.
